For 10 Groups (20 Experiments) >> Soil is a rich source for the isolation of various
bacterial strains, but possible dangers
exist in the isolation of bacteria that may
prove to be a human pathogen. In the
laboratory, samples of soils that are free of
any environmental bacteria will be used.
The sterile samples will contain one or two
specific safe soil bacteria. Students will
isolate and characterize the strains. With
caution in the field, students will also isolate
the various bacteria from soil samples.
Store all components at
room temperature. >> EXPERIMENT INCLUDES • Complete instructions, background
